Movetech UK recently put X-Factor runner-up, Olly Murs, in a spin when filming the video for his latest single, Heart skips a beat, by supplying and setting up a 6 metre diameter revolving stage for Olly and rapping duo, Rizzle Kicks, to perform on. The location, a skate park at Mile End, was chosen to add urban edge and community interest in the shoot.
It was another long day for the Movetech UK rental team, though thankfully in better weather conditions than those the team experienced when filming the Christmas TV commercial for CSL in sub-zero temperatures.
Matt Forrest, Rental Manager at Movetech UK’s Epping depot, explains: “The task was to install the 6m revolving stage at around 7.30 am, ready for rehearsals and final shoot . They dressed the turntable surface to make it look like an old vinyl record, which looked great.”
“One of our team stayed on the set all day to help with the operation of the turntable, and it’s a credit to the revolve’s build that it operated flawlessly throughout the day.”
“I returned at around 10.30pm to help dismantle the stage, and we were able to get away from the park at around midnight – so only a 16½ hour working day this time!”
The Heart Skips a Beat single is now out, with the resulting video viewable on YouTube, prior to Olly Murs’ second album being released in November. The video was created by Academy Films and directed by Corin Hardy for the Sony Music label.
The revolving stage installed by Movetech UK is from an extensive range of units from 1 to 33 metres in diameter, all available to rent or buy, with or without full on site installation and support services. Olly Murs was runner-up on the sixth series of the British television show, The X-Factor and is expected to present the spin-off show, The Xtra Factor alongside Caroline Flack. It has also been confirmed that Olly Murs will present a Celebrity Club Classic show on Heart FM.
