Motorised turntable units from Movetech UK (the new name for British Turntable) became an integral part of a highly successful series of in-store POS display units for Hitachi following extensive collaboration between m4 Design, Routec GB Ltd (manufacturers) and Movetech UK.
The displays, which were implemented across Europe, were installed in selected John Lewis stores, including their flagship Oxford Street outlet, and in other well-known stores such as Harrods, Selfridges, Comet, Currys, Hughes, Bennett and PNR Audio Vision. A range of independents in the UK and multiples in France, Spain, Italy and Germany also took the displays.
In order to show off the Hitachi Ultra Thin flatscreens to their best advantage, m4 Design, a leading supplier of POS material to the electrical industry, created a solution using Movetech UK turntables. With these set to oscillate through 180 degrees potential customers were able to view the product from all angles and appreciate the beauty of the design and the unique thinness of the screens through a full 360 degrees. An additional benefit for Hitachi was a reinforcement of the corporate branding.
Jo Thomson, Director of m4 said “This highly successful collaboration, leading to the design of the oscillating display plinths, has contributed towards improved customer understanding of the product benefits and a strong cohesive brand image across Europe. Through this Hitachi Digital Media has achieved enhanced brand awareness and a predicted increase in product sales.”
Movetech UK offers more than 100 units in its standard range of display movement, from small POS models through to revolving stages up to 10 metres in diameter. Oscillation, such as that provided to m4’s specification, can be incorporated into many turntable models, as can variable speed, timed or positional hesitation, and static centres. In addition to its extensive product portfolio, Movetech UK offers a range of services which extends from pre-project advice and project design, through to delivery, installation, maintenance and calibration. A rental service is available on most turntable products.
