British Turntable has helped Sandal BMW of Wakefield in West Yorkshire create a series of dynamic launch events for their new models, thanks to the versatility and impact of movement and British Turntable’s Merlin Major 21 ‘invisible’ car revolve.
Sandal BMW chose to purchase a unit after successful events using a hired Merlin to provide that special ambience required when launching such a prestigious marque.
Greg Stainton, Marketing Executive at Sandal BMW explains: “With several new BMW and MINI models launching in 2007 we decided to purchase a Merlin after hiring them in the past from British Turntable. This has been a great decision as we now have the flexibility to use it all year round. <
“In particular we use the revolve in our showroom feature window as it adds movement to an otherwise motionless showroom. Because it’s relatively easy to change the featured car we can alter the focus regularly, which helps keep customers interested and motivated to try out different models from the range. The turntable is a great asset and really attracts attention from our customers and passing traffic.”
British Turntable, which was founded in 1959 on a single request for an automotive display turntable, offers a number of movement solutions for automotive display, and the portable Merlin Major 21 is a particularly cost-effective and versatile option.
As the vehicle is supported on four wheel pads emanating from a central motor, the revolve is practically invisible in operation, making the vehicle turn as if by magic. By operating the unit from the car’s own 12v battery, trailing wires are avoided, making it ideal for temporary exhibitions in shopping malls, cinemas and hotel foyers or on the forecourt.
British Turntable also offers conventional full platform revolves that are particularly suited to automotive display. The Olympian 4.5, which comes with an attractive deck and skirt surround, is an elegant portable option for the showroom or exhibition, while a variety of revolving stages up to 12 metres in diameter can be surface mounted or flush-fitted for added style and elegance, whatever the setting or venue.
