Movetech UK brings Christmas alive

News

Small point of purchase revolves from Movetech UK are helping Royal British Legion Industries (RBLI) create eye-catching displays of Meccano models ready to tap into the lucrative Christmas market. The mains-powered units are allowing large high street stores and smaller independents alike to display the iconic models to full advantage 24/7 in the run up to the main selling season of the year.

David Church, chief designer at RBLI, explains: “Some Meccano models are meant to move, and where they do, motors are supplied with the kits. We therefore felt it was important to display the finished items with the movement built in.

“However the models are often on display for up to six months, so we needed to find a supplier that could provide small mains-powered motors that would run continuously, 24/7, and have reliability built in. Quite simply, Movetech UK came up with the goods.

“This is the second year we’ve used their revolves to add movement to the Meccano displays as they were so successful last year and were so well received by the stores and buyers.”

The Meccano displays are now on show throughout the Republic of Ireland in major toy retailer Smyths stores and in the UK in John Lewis and a wide range of independent retail outlets.

David Church continues: “Over the years we’ve designed displays for a number of toy manufacturers, including K’nex and Tomy, for such prestigious stores as Hamleys and Harrods. As an independent charity RBLI enjoys its association with such prestigious names, and we are justifiably proud of our success in the retail display market.”

The point of purchase revolves supplied by Movetech UK are part of a large range of display movement that has been developed since the company was established in 1959. Standard units include small pendulum units, larger display carousels and revolving stages up to 10 metres in diameter.
